Amy O'Dea

Amy provides perinatal counselling to mothers and parents in Greater Victoria for the perinatal program. She provides these services as an independent counsellor at the downtown Victoria office she operates on Fridays as part of her private practice. This office is located at the Centre for Counselling & Therapy in the Yarrow building at the corner of Fort and Broad.

Amy is a Registered Social Worker (RSW #10807) with the BCCSW, and a member of the BCASW. She is a Master of Social Work candidate at the University of Waterloo and will be conferred in Spring 2024.

Amy has two decades of experience working with people of wide-ranging backgrounds, including those living with substance use and mental health challenges. Since 2016, her work has focussed on providing counselling and support for mothers in their perinatal period. Amy has training as a birth doula and postpartum doula.

In addition to the perinatal counselling that Amy provides at her downtown Victoria office, she provides counselling online for private clients. As well, she is employed as a manager in the pregnancy and healthy babies program with the local Friendship Centre in the Cowichan Valley.

Previously, Amy fulfilled roles as outreach counsellor, program manager and case manager at agencies which include the Sea-to-Sky Community Services in Squamish and PHS Community Services Society based in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

Starting January 2024, Amy provides perinatal counselling on Fridays in her downtown Victoria office in the Centre for Counselling & Therapy. This is Suite 111 in the Yarrow professional building on Fort Street.

Enter the Yarrow building from Fort near Broad, just across from the Bay Centre. Then take the stairs or elevator up one level to get to #111.
